The Supreme Court on Tuesday postponed the hearing of the case related to the Indian Political Action Committee (I-Pac) after senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing in the matter, informed the court that he was unwell. The apex court has now listed the case for hearing on February 18.
The matter was taken up by the bench as scheduled, but it was conveyed that Kapil Sibal was unable to appear due to health reasons. Taking note of the submission, the court agreed to defer the proceedings without entering into the merits of the case.
The bench observed that given the circumstances, it would be appropriate to grant an adjournment and fix a fresh date. Accordingly, the hearing was rescheduled for February 18, allowing sufficient time for the senior counsel to recover and present arguments. The I-Pac case has drawn attention due to its political and legal implications, and the next hearing is expected to take up substantive issues once the matter resumes before the court.
