India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20, chase down total in 11.5 overs
The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought the National Testing Agency's (NTA) response to a plea demanding a fresh NEET-UG 2024 exam due to alleged question paper leaks and other malpractices.
A vacation bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah requested the NTA's response but did not halt the counseling process for successful candidates seeking admissions to MBBS, BDS, and other courses.
NEET-UG 2024, conducted on May 5, had its results announced on June 4, ahead of the expected June 14 date. The examination is crucial for admissions to various medical and allied courses across India like MBBS, BDS, and many more.
The plea, filed by Shivangi Mishra and others, alleged that the NEET-UG 2024 exam was compromised due to multiple instances of paper leaks. The petitioners claimed these malpractices violated Article 14 of the Constitution, which ensures the right to equality, as they provided an unfair advantage to some candidates.
The Supreme Court tagged the plea filed by Shivangi Mishra and others with the pending one and asked the NTA to file the response in the meantime.
