Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari, accompanied by BJP MLAs, arrived at Swasthya Bhavan on Tuesday morning to discuss the dengue situation in West Bengal. However, a clash ensued when they were stopped by security guards and policemen outside the gate.
Adhikari had previously requested a meeting with the Chief Secretary in the absence of the Chief Minister, but it couldn't be arranged due to the Chief Secretary's unavailability. Today, opposition leaders, along with BJP MLAs, were seen outside the Swasthya Bhawan. They tried entering but were prevented from doing so by security guards. This led to a physical altercation between the two sides.
Adhikari expressed frustration, questioning if Swasthya Bhawan belonged solely to the Trinamool party, and criticized the state of healthcare in West Bengal. He highlighted the critical dengue situation, citing deaths of newborns and mothers, overcrowded hospitals, and restricted access to private nursing homes.
