Kasba Gangrape: Court sends all 3 accused to 7-day police custody
The Sealdah Railway Division has introduced two new local trains and revised the timing of one existing service on the Diamond Harbour route to manage increased passenger load during morning office hours. These changes apply to the Sealdah South section and follow successful trial runs conducted earlier by the Railways.
The first newly introduced local train will run daily from Sonarpur to Diamond Harbour, departing at 5:00 AM and reaching at 6:05 AM. The second will run daily from Diamond Harbour to Ballygunge, departing at 6:30 AM and arriving at 7:56 AM. The existing Sonarpur–Diamond Harbour local, which earlier departed at 4:50 AM, will now leave 10 minutes earlier at 4:40 AM and reach Diamond Harbour by 5:45 AM.
According to railway officials, this new arrangement comes after five trains were earlier added on the Dum Dum Cantonment–Bangaon route. The objective is to streamline operations during high-traffic hours and provide additional commuting options on the Diamond Harbour route. Regular service for these trains begins following the success of their trial runs.
