Three coaches, including a parcel van, of the 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar SF Express derailed near Nalpur Station in the South Eastern Railway division on Saturday morning. The derailment occurred at 5:30 am as the train moved from the middle line to the down line. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported, according to South Eastern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Om Prakash Charan.
The CPRO confirmed that one parcel van and two passenger coaches were affected. Immediate steps were taken to assist passengers, with 10 buses arranged to ensure their continued journey. The quick response ensured that passenger inconvenience was minimized despite the disruption caused by the accident.
Passengers on board were understandably concerned, but with no major injuries reported, relief was evident. The derailment happened under relatively controlled conditions, enabling the railway authorities to respond swiftly. South Eastern Railway staff and officials were on-site promptly to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance.
