Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
A major anti-Maoist operation in Jharkhand has resulted in the killing of 15 suspected Maoists, including a top leader carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore. The encounter took place during a security forces operation in a forested region of the state, reports said.
Security officials said the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of senior Maoist leaders in the area. A prolonged exchange of fire followed when security personnel came under attack, leading to heavy casualties among the armed group.
The top leader was wanted for his role in multiple attacks and for orchestrating violence against security forces and civilians. Officials said weapons, ammunition, and other materials were recovered from the encounter site, indicating the scale of the operation. Search and combing operations were continued in the surrounding areas to rule out the presence of more armed cadres.
