Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Shah Rukh Khan sustained a back injury while shooting for his upcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The injury occurred during a scheduled shoot in Mumbai. Following the incident, the actor travelled to the United States for treatment and has now relocated to the United Kingdom, where he is recovering. He is currently accompanied by his family.
According to a source, the injury is minor and the actor is recovering well under medical supervision. Due to the injury, filming for King has been temporarily halted and is expected to resume in September. Shah Rukh Khan's scheduled visit to Sri Lanka has also been postponed.
This is not the first time the actor has suffered a back injury. During the filming of Shakti in 2002, he was diagnosed with a prolapsed disc and underwent anterior cervical discectomy and fusion surgery in the UK. He resumed work shortly after the procedure and began filming Swades. Actor Daya Shankar Panday recalled, “This was the same time when Shah Rukh Khan was suffering from severe back pain. So much that he had a physio on set.”
Over the years, Shah Rukh Khan has dealt with multiple injuries on film sets. He fractured three ribs and injured his left knee while filming Darr. He also suffered a knee injury during Koyla, which worsened during the shoot of Ra-One in 2011, leading to surgery. In 2007, he hurt his left shoulder during an action scene in Dulha Mil Gaya, and re-injured it while filming My Name Is Khan in 2008. In 2013, he again injured his shoulder and underwent surgery in London.
King marks the big-screen debut of Suhana Khan, who previously appeared in The Archies on a digital platform. The film also features Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, and Abhay Verma in important roles. Further details about the film’s storyline or release date have not been officially confirmed.
