Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan is 2nd highest grossing Indian film in IMAX behind Yash's KGF 2

Pathaan is currently roaring at the box office. The film has been breaking records in India and worldwide ever since its release on January 25. Fans are especially excited to see Shah Rukh Khan back on screen and playing a full-fledged role after a gap of four years.

Pathaan has now crossed the Rs 950 crore mark worldwide and is eyeing the Rs 500 crore mark at the domestic box office collection. It also became the second-biggest Hindi original in IMAX of all time.

PATHAAN IS THE 2ND HIGHEST GROSSING INDIAN FILM AT IMAX

Pathaan, which released on January 25, is running wild at the box office. Also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the film opened at the box office and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. The film hit 144 IMAX screens worldwide in 21 markets. It ended up having the widest Indian release ever on IMAX. "Pathaan delivered the biggest opening day for an Indian film in IMAX," Richard Gelfond, CEO of IMAX, told.

Reports also suggest that Pathaan had the first ever IMAX weekend in India. It beat movies like KGF-Chapter 2, RRR, Avatar: The Way Of Water, 2017 movie Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion. Pathaan is now the seventh highest grossing IMAX film of all time across India. It is the second highest grossing Indian film in IMAX, the first being Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2.

ABOUT PATHAAN

Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham met for the first time in Pathaan. The film is written and directed by Siddharth Anand and bankrolled by Yash Raj Films. It is the fourth installment in YRF's spy universe and is Khan's comeback film after Zero (2018).

The film was released on 25 January 2023 along with dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu. Salman Khan also played explosive cameos in the film. Shah Rukh Khan is seen as Pathaan, a RAW field agent, in the film. The music of Pathaan was composed by Vishal-Shekhar and the score was composed by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara.
