Former ex-cast member Shailesh Lodha filed a case against the makers of the famous show Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah. For the past year, there has been a schism between them over the payment of debts and now Lodha has filed a case against the show’s director Asit Modi, for failing to pay his dues. The 53-year-old actor left the show last year after a disagreement with the showrunner.
The actor said that the matter is subjudice and under court, so he does not want to comment anything on the topic. Meanwhile, the show’s project head, Sohil Ramani stated that there isn’t much to say that hasn’t been said earlier. He expressed that Lodha has been like a family only and when he left we respected that.
He also stated that on numerous occasions through email and on the telephone the show’s team has requested him to come to the office to sign all required paperwork and take his remaining enumeration and that they have never denied or refused to give his payment.
Ramani also commented that in every company when people leave, they have to sign full and final papers before complete payment is released. He said, “Where is the issue? Instead of going around and complaining, isn’t it better to simply follow the regular procedure?”
Lodha first appeared on the show Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2008 and left it in April 2022. Lodha was the main presenter of the TV show Wah! Wah! Kya Baat Hai! from 2012 to 2013. In 2019, he co-starred in the comedy film Wig Boss with Sunil Pal and Rakhi Sawant.
