Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to a private hospital in Pune on Sunday after suffering from mild dehydration. According to an official statement from the hospital, the 85-year-old leader’s condition is stable and he is under medical supervision.
Pawar’s daughter and MP Supriya Sule said he was being admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic for follow-up tests and hydration. She thanked the doctors and healthcare workers attending to him, indicating that the hospitalisation was precautionary and part of routine monitoring.
Doctors supervising his treatment said Pawar requires fluids and will remain admitted for observation. Chief cardiologist and chairman of Ruby Hall Clinic Dr Purvez Grant, along with consultant physician Dr Abhijit Lodha, confirmed that his condition is stable and that he is expected to stay in the hospital for two days before being discharged.
This is Pawar’s second hospitalisation in recent weeks. Nearly two weeks ago, he was admitted to the same facility due to a chest infection and was discharged on February 14 after recovery.
The latest development has prompted party workers and supporters to express concern, though doctors have assured that his health is stable and that he is responding well to treatment.
