State Minister Shashi Panja on Monday raised concerns over an incident at RG Kar Hospital where a "Progressive Health" banner, aimed at promoting patient care, was torn down. The banner had been recently displayed at the hospital to highlight a positive approach to healthcare services. Minister Panja expressed dissatisfaction over the incident and stated that the tearing of the banner was an unfortunate act, drawing attention to the importance of such initiatives in enhancing public health awareness.

In response to the incident, the Minister announced plans to meet with the hospital's principal to demand access to the CCTV footage, which could help identify those responsible for damaging the banner. No official statement has been released by the hospital management yet, but an internal inquiry into the matter is anticipated. The event has prompted a closer scrutiny of hospital operations in Kolkata, especially regarding patient service and hospital administration.
