India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20, chase down total in 11.5 overs
Eknath Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad has ignited controversy by offering a Rs 11 lakh reward for anyone who "chops off" Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's tongue. This controversial remark comes after Gandhi’s recent comments in the US about potentially ending India's reservation system when "India is a fair place”. Gaikwad claims Gandhi’s statement reveals Congress’s true stance against reservations.
In his outburst, Gaikwad criticized Gandhi’s position, calling it a betrayal of communities fighting for reservation benefits. He accused Gandhi of spreading false narratives to gain votes and demanded action against him.
The BJP has distanced itself from Gaikwad’s comments, with Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekar Bawankule disapproving of the reward offer. He also pointed out historical opposition to reservations by past Congress leaders, contrasting it with Gandhi's current stance.
Congress leaders, including spokesperson Atul Londhe, have condemned Gaikwad's statement, calling for severe repercussions. Gaikwad, known for previous controversies such as flaunting a tiger tooth and assaulting individuals, has further fueled political tensions in Maharashtra.
