Shocking assault, sexual assault, and robbery unfold in Delhi, 26-year-old attacked during date at cafe

A shocking incident of assault, sexual assault, and robbery has come to light in the national capital, Delhi. A 26-year-old man, who was on a date with his girlfriend at a cafe on Vikas Marg, was allegedly attacked by a group of men. The accused not only beat him up but also sexually assaulted him. Disturbingly, they recorded the assault on camera with the intention of extorting money from the victim.

According to the police, the accused robbed the victim of cash and his mobile phone. They then used the video of the assault to blackmail him, demanding a ransom of ₹50,000. The incident came to the attention of the authorities when a PCR call was received on July 28, reporting an injured person undergoing treatment at Hedgewar Hospital.

The victim was unable to give a statement at that time due to his condition. However, on July 29, he provided his account of the incident to the police. As per his statement, the altercation began over a billing dispute at the cafe, where he was with his girlfriend. The situation escalated quickly, and the cafe staff subjected him to physical abuse and verbal abuse.

Subsequently, the victim was forcibly taken in a car towards Meerut, where he was further physically assaulted by the accused near Gang Nahar. They also robbed him of ₹8,000, his car key, and his mobile phone during the ordeal. Afterward, the accused demanded a hefty sum of ₹50,000 to delete the assault video and left him injured near Vivekanand Mahila College in Vivek Vihar.

The victim's family rushed him to the hospital for treatment. As the investigation unfolded, the police managed to apprehend three of the accused, while others are still at large. A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Preet Vihar police station, including charges related to attempted murder, robbery, extortion, and criminal conspiracy.
