Actor and singer Shruti Haasan confirmed on Tuesday that her official X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked. She informed her followers through an Instagram Story that the posts being made from her X handle were not by her, and urged users not to engage with the page until she regains access.
Shruti wrote, “Hi lovelies, just want to let you know my Twitter account has been hacked. That’s not me posting. So don’t interact with that page till I’m back please,” along with folded hands and red heart emojis. The message was shared via her Instagram account after several abnormal posts were noticed on her X timeline.
Following the breach, her X profile began posting spam content, including promotional materials for bitcoin, memecoins, and other cryptocurrency-related schemes. Her pinned tweet was also changed and began redirecting users to an external site reportedly connected to unsafe promotions. Fans noticed the sudden change in activity and started warning others to avoid clicking on any links.
The last known legitimate post from Shruti’s X account was on June 23. In that post, she wrote, “Am I the only one who feels way happier and way more uplifted and positive when the weather is gloomy and rainy? I can’t be the only one… makes me want write things and move hearts.” All posts after that appeared unrelated and were consistent with the nature of a compromised account.
Shruti Haasan was recently seen performing live at the Thug Life audio launch event in Chennai, where she sang “Vinveli Nayaga” in front of the film’s cast and composer AR Rahman. The film marked a collaboration between director Mani Ratnam and actor Kamal Haasan after nearly three decades. On the professional front, Shruti will next appear in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Rajinikanth, along with actors Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Sundeep Kishan, and Reba Monica John.
