Siliguri witnessed a powerful display of unity and brotherhood as thousands gathered at the Kanchenjunga Stadium to offer Eid al-Fitr prayers. Members of the minority community assembled at the venue from early morning, filling the stadium complex as the city marked the festival with devotion and togetherness.
Once the prayers concluded, the atmosphere turned festive. People greeted one another with warm embraces, exchanged Eid Mubarak wishes and shared the joy of the occasion. The congregation transcended caste and religious boundaries, transforming the event into a collective celebration of human harmony.
Several political leaders also joined the gathering to extend greetings. Among them were Gautam Dev, Trinamool Congress candidate for the Siliguri Assembly constituency, and Sharadindu Chakraborty, the Left Front candidate. Both urged citizens to uphold peace, coexistence and social harmony.
The large-scale turnout reaffirmed Siliguri’s tradition of communal unity, with residents coming together in celebration of faith and solidarity.
