Suspended IAS officer and MGNREGA scam accused Pooja Singhal was on Monday granted conditional bail for two months by a lower court on the Supreme Court's order.
The Executive Directorate (ED) arrested Singhal on 11 May 2022 in connection with the MGNREGA scam and money laundering cases. During the raids, the ED seized a huge amount of money from her husband's chartered accountant.
The SC ordered Singhal on two-month bail, with the condition that she not try to influence ED witnesses in the cases. Earlier, the SC had also earlier granted bail to Singhal for one month for the treatment of her ailing daughter, after which she surrendered before a special PMLA court on February 4. The Supreme Court has now granted her bail for her daughter's further treatment.
Birsa Munda Central Jail Superintendent Hamid Akhtar said, “We released her after the lower court served us with an order in this regard.
