Sisodia's Tihar letter highlights importance of education amid arrest

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, currently incarcerated in Delhi's Tihar jail, has penned a letter expressing his optimism about soon regaining his freedom. Addressing his constituents in the Patparganj assembly, Sisodia drew parallels between his imprisonment and the struggles of freedom fighters against British colonial rule. He underscored the importance of quality education and schools for national development.

Comparing his situation to the British era, Sisodia highlighted the significance of the ongoing fight for free and quality education. He drew inspiration from historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, emphasizing that good education is crucial for a country's development. Sisodia expressed gratitude to his constituents for supporting his family during his incarceration.

Sisodia's letter comes amidst his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last year in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. He is scheduled for a bail hearing on April 6. Several other leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, have also faced arrests about the alleged liquor policy scam. AAP MP Sanjay Singh, who was previously detained in the same case, was released six months after his arrest.
