In a shocking incident, Phulbanti Sahu was brutally attacked by her sister-in-law, Soni Sahu. Allegedly, she was beaten with bricks and iron rods, causing severe injuries to her face, neck, and chest. She received treatment at Sonarpur Rural Hospital and has lodged a complaint at the local police station. The horrifying attack took place in the morning in the Rania area under Narendrapur police station.
According to local sources, 80-year-old Devanti Sahu had come to visit her daughter, Phulbanti Sahu, at her home. Devanti primarily resides with her son and daughter-in-law. However, this visit enraged Soni Sahu, who then allegedly attacked Phulbanti Sahu. Phulbanti Sahu stated in her complaint, "My mother came to talk to me. My sister-in-law could not tolerate this. Suddenly, she attacked me with bricks and iron rods. I tried to run to save my life." Following the assault, local residents rushed her to the hospital.
After receiving medical treatment at Sonarpur Rural Hospital, she collected her medical report and submitted it to the police station. She further alleged that this was not the first instance of harassment by her sister-in-law. Although she had endured previous abuses in silence, this time, the violence was unbearable. The severe beating has left her physically and mentally traumatized.
Following the complaint at Narendrapur police station, authorities have begun an investigation. According to police sources, legal action will be taken against the accused, Soni Sahu. Phulbanti Sahu remains in a state of fear, and her family members are also feeling insecure. They have demanded immediate action against the perpetrators.
