A protest by unemployed teachers outside Bikash Bhavan turned tense as agitators sat at the main gate demanding recruitment. As the crowd attempted to enter the premises, Bidhannagar Police intervened to stop them, resulting in a brief confrontation. The situation escalated when protesters tried to push past the barricades. Senior police officials arrived at the spot and used microphones to appeal for a peaceful protest. No injuries were reported.
Following the intervention, the teachers began a sit-in on the road outside the Bikash Bhavan gate. Security was increased in the area, with additional personnel deployed to manage the crowd and maintain order. The protesters, who have been demanding timely teacher recruitment, continued their demonstration at the site. Police presence remained high, and the situation was being monitored to prevent further escalation.
