West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed admiration for Financial Advisor Amit Mitra during the Bengal Global Business Summit, commending his dedication despite health challenges. The CM extended gratitude to various international institutions, including the ADB and World Bank, along with foreign companies and representatives from 40 countries who participated in the summit.
In her address, Mamata Banerjee underscored the significance of small industries in generating employment, asserting that large businesses alone cannot fulfill the employment needs of the population. She highlighted the support for small industries in Bengal, citing the presence of 90 lakh self-help groups as a form of industry. The CM emphasized creativity as a crucial aspect, mentioning the commitment of the leather industry to create 10 lakh jobs.
