Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on Thursday evening for a routine checkup, party sources confirmed. The 78-year-old leader is currently under the care of a team of doctors and is expected to be discharged by Friday morning.
According to initial reports, while the exact time of her admission remains unclear, a source mentioned that Gandhi was brought to the hospital on Thursday morning. Her hospitalization, however, is described as a precautionary measure, with no cause for concern.
Sonia Gandhi, who has dealt with health issues in the past, has been making fewer public appearances in recent months. Despite this, she has remained active in Congress' key internal discussions and continues to play an advisory role in party affairs.
