Sonia Gandhi, the Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson, broke her silence on the recent assembly election results, accusing the government of "strangulating democracy" by suspending over 140 MPs for a legitimate demand.
Speaking at a Congress Parliamentary Party meeting in the Central Hall of Parliament, Gandhi acknowledged the disappointing election results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. She urged party MPs to turn their disappointment into a positive drive for the upcoming general elections in the next few months.
Gandhi also criticized the government's handling of the December 13 Parliament security breach, calling it inexcusable, and expressed concerns about the soaring inflation and economic inequalities under the BJP government.
