'Jo Ram Ko Laye Hain' singer Kanhaiya Mittal to join Congress
In a significant development in the Kannauj minor rape case, DNA evidence has confirmed the involvement of former block chief and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Nawab Singh Yadav. The Superintendent of Police, Amit Kumar Anand, announced that the DNA test results matched Yadav's sample with that of the minor victim, solidifying the rape charges against him.
On August 12, Yadav was caught in an objectionable situation at a degree college in Nasrapur, based on a complaint filed by the victim. Following the complaint and medical examination, Yadav was arrested and later consented to a DNA test. The results, received on Monday, confirmed his guilt.
Further complicating the case, the victim's aunt, who was involved in bringing the minor to Yadav, has been implicated as a co-accused. She was arrested after police investigations revealed her long-standing relationship with Yadav and her attempts to alter statements under pressure. The case has intensified with these revelations, increasing the legal troubles for Yadav.
