NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
Two people, including a woman, were injured after a speeding car lost control and crashed into a light post at the island of EE Block in Salt Lake late on Sunday night. The accident occurred around 11:30 pm and left the vehicle severely damaged.
According to police sources, a white Honda City was travelling from Tank No. 10 towards Sushrut Hospital when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The car mounted the island at EE Block and collided with a light post. Due to the high speed, the impact shattered the car’s front windshield and triggered the airbags. Both occupants of the vehicle, a man and a woman, sustained injuries in the crash and were found bleeding after the collision. They were immediately taken to the Kolkata Heart Research Centre, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Police said the car carried an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) sticker and it has been learnt that an Income Tax officer was driving the vehicle. The police have seized the car and are examining CCTV footage from nearby security cameras to determine the exact cause of the accident.
