Speeding car hits bike and 7 people outside Newtown Eco Park

A terrifying road accident reported today when a speeding car lost control and hits several people waiting at a bus stop near Newtown Eco Park Gate No. 4. The car, coming from the Biswa Bangla Gate side towards Akankha More, first hits a road divider, jumped over it, and entered the approach road before hitting a bike and then seven pedestrians, including a woman. Locals and eyewitnesses says the car was being driven at very high speed, creating panic in the entire area.

All the injured people, including the biker were quickly lifted by locals and taken to nearby hospital. The driver, who was alone in the car, also got injured and was found sitting on the footpath in a dazed state. Bidhannagar Police reached the spot swiftly and took the driver to hospital for treatment, seized the car, and arrested him.

Seven people have been seriously injured in this accident and are undergoing treatment. Bidhannagar Police are checking whether the crash happened because of rash driving, brake failure, or any other reason. The incident has left local residents and daily commuters shocked, with many demanding stricter action against reckless drivers in the Newtown area.
