Speeding car hits group of Kawariyas in Bengal, 6 killed & 2 injured

Six pilgrims lost their lives, and two others were injured in a tragic accident on Asian Highway 2 in Bagdogra, Darjeeling. The group was on their way to Jangli Baba Mandir for a religious ritual when they were struck by a speeding vehicle.

According to police reports, the vehicle, traveling from Ghoshpukur to Sikkim, veered off course and crashed through a road divider before hitting the group of pilgrims. The impact of the collision was devastating, resulting in the immediate deaths of six individuals: Prahlad Roy, a civic volunteer, Gobind Singh (22), Amlesh Chowdhury (20), Kanak Burman (22), Pranab Roy (28), and Padakant Roy.

The two injured individuals were rushed to a nearby hospital, with one reported to be in critical condition. The authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the vehicle's loss of control, which led to the tragic accident.
