A tragic road accident on the EM Bypass late Tuesday night claimed the life of a biker. Police sources indicate that the biker was traveling at a considerably high speed from Dhala Bridge towards Ruby Crossing when the incident occurred. The victim was later identified as Alokesh Halder.
The sequence of the accident began when the bike initially struck a stationary car near the Singhibari intersection. Following this first collision, the biker lost complete control of the vehicle, which then crashed directly into the road divider. The force of the impact flung the rider onto the road, leaving him heavily bleeding and critically injured.
Local residents rushed to the scene and immediately rescued the profusely bleeding victim, taking him to the MR Bangur Hospital. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead upon arrival. Police and locals universally believe that the excessive speed of the motorcycle was a primary factor in the accident. Authorities also highlighted that the biker was not wearing a helmet.
