Spicejet grounds pilots over in-flight snacking

SpiceJet grounded two of its pilots for having gujiya and drinks on critical consoles inside the cockpit on Holi. A spokesman for the airline said an investigation was underway to find out more details about the incident.

According to the management of Spicejet, the pilots jeopardized the safety of the flight. The incident was reported on board a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Guwahati on March 8, 2023, which was celebrated as Holi in the country.

According to a reports, both the pilots have been delisted and the airlines have launched an investigation.

Commenting on the incident, a spokesperson for the SpiceJet airline said the company has a strict policy for eating food in the cockpit, which is followed by the entire flight crew. "Appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken after the investigation is over," he added.
