Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, the process of issuing recommendation letters to candidates who cleared the teacher recruitment examination has commenced. The School Service Commission (SSC) on Tuesday began counselling for successful candidates selected for teaching Classes 11 and 12, marking the formal start of appointments against vacant posts.
According to the SSC, the counselling process began after the Commission received the subject-wise and category-wise vacancy list from the state government. In the first phase, counselling will be conducted over two days—Tuesday and Wednesday—for seven subjects. A total of 172 successful candidates are scheduled to receive recommendation letters during this initial round.
The Commission has already published the final merit list along with the waiting list, which together include around 18,000 candidates. The total number of vacant posts currently stands at 12,445. Further phases of counselling are expected to follow as the appointment process progresses.
