The School Service Commission (SSC) has announced it will submit a list of verified teachers from the 2016 recruitment cycle to the Education Department by Wednesday. This decision followed a meeting on Tuesday between SSC officials and West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu. The Commission stated that the list will be submitted in three phases and will include only those candidates whose examination records and documents are free of discrepancies.
In parallel, the Commissioner of School Education has issued letters to all District Inspectors (DIs), directing them to release the names of eligible teachers from their respective areas. These instructions are in line with the Supreme Court’s order dated April 13, which stated that candidates found qualified in the 2016 selection process are permitted to continue as teachers until December 31.
The Supreme Court order also directed that salaries must be paid to those teachers against whom there are no objections. SSC clarified that only names without any procedural faults will be shared with the Education Department. The three-phase submission aims to ensure clear classification and verification of the eligible candidates.
