Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
St Stephen’s College under Delhi University and St Thomas School in Dwarka received bomb threats via email on Tuesday morning, prompting immediate evacuation and deployment of emergency teams. This marks the second consecutive day of such incidents reported at educational institutions in the national capital.
Delhi Police confirmed that the bomb threats were received by email and that their Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad, Fire Department, and Special Staff teams were dispatched to both locations. "St. Thomas School in the Dwarka area of Delhi and St. Stephen's College of the University of Delhi received bomb threats on Tuesday. Delhi Police Bomb Squad, Dog Squad, Delhi Fire Brigade team, and Special Staff team are on the spot. St. Thomas School and St. Stephen's College have been evacuated," the police said.
Officials from Delhi Fire Services stated they were informed after the respective institutions received the threat emails. Teams arrived and began searches at both sites in coordination with police units. As of the latest update, no suspicious object has been found in either the school or the college, and search operations are still ongoing.
This incident follows similar threats received on Monday by CRPF Public School in Dwarka Sector 16 and Navy School in Chanakyapuri. Those schools were also evacuated and searched by security teams, but no explosives were located.
In a related development, Amritsar’s Golden Temple also received a threatening email on Monday, warning of a blast at the langar hall. The Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee lodged a formal complaint. Investigations are underway to determine if the incidents across Delhi and Amritsar are connected.
