There was a clash between the students and teachers at Sambalpur High School in the Maldah district on Thursday. The incident allegedly occurred due to a dispute over the collection of donations for organizing the school's farewell function.
Reports suggest that the students attacked the teachers during the altercation, and the teachers responded in kind. In response, the students blocked the road and demanded the return of the donation. However, there is still uncertainty surrounding the real cause of the incident.
One account claims that a teacher at the school collected between 300 and 400 rupees from students for the farewell ceremony, which did not take place. As a result, the students requested the return of their money, and the disagreement erupted from there.
On the other hand, an alternative version of events states that each student was requested to contribute Rs. 60-60 for the farewell ceremony of the school's class X students, which was not held even after a considerable amount of time had passed.
Consequently, the students demanded the return of their money, leading to a clash between them and the teachers. The students blocked the road to protest when their demand for a refund was not met.
