Subhendu Adhikari joins DA protesters, calls for surrounding secretariat

On Tuesday morning, senior Bengal BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Subhendu Adhikari reached the stage of the government employees sitting on strike demanding the arrears of Dearness Allowance (DA). Employees' organization Solidarity Equality Forum has been on strike for a long time at Shaheed Minar grounds demanding DA. Recently a section of its members had started a hunger strike. On Tuesday morning, opposition leaders suddenly reached the fast stage. He criticized the state government while sitting next to the protesters.

He said, "Do a new campaign, I will also be there." He also warned the state government that if anything happens to the agitators, it will be bad. Shubhendu claimed that DA workers were being ill-treated because they were not tolerating the "corruption" of the state government.
