Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
An IPS officer from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s security team created a stir when he appeared at BJP president JP Nadda’s meeting in Salt Lake Sector 5 on Thursday. The officer, identified as DIG (Security) Sumit Kumar, briefly entered the hotel and left after telling reporters, “I came to find someone.”
The state BJP was holding a high-profile meeting at a hotel in Salt Lake, attended by Nadda and the party’s top state leadership. The sudden appearance of a member of the Chief Minister’s security team immediately caught media and BJP leaders’ attention, raising questions about the reason for his visit.
The incident coincided with Enforcement Directorate raids at I-PAC leader Pratik Jain’s residence and Salt Lake office. I-PAC serves as an advisory body for the Trinamool Congress, and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee personally visited both locations, remaining at the office to monitor developments.
The IPS officer was seen near the corridor outside the conference room but did not enter the meeting. After media attention increased, he turned and exited through the same route he entered, waiting outside for his car. When asked about his presence, he repeated, “I came to find someone,” and left the premises.
The episode sparked curiosity among BJP leaders and workers at the meeting venue. Several associates and senior party members approached the officer’s exit route seeking clarification, while journalists and onlookers closely observed the unfolding situation.
