At least four children were killed and 38 others injured when a suicide car bomber struck a school bus in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Wednesday. The incident occurred in the Khuzdar district while the bus was transporting students to school. Local deputy commissioner Yasir Iqbal confirmed the toll and said several of the injured were in critical condition. The blast caused extensive damage to the vehicle and led to panic in the area.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing. Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack. Security forces cordoned off the site and began a search operation shortly after the incident. Khuzdar, located in southwestern Balochistan, has seen repeated violence over the years, and officials are working to determine the origin and motive behind the attack.
Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the bombing, describing it as “sheer barbarism” and expressing grief over the loss of young lives. “The attackers are beasts who do not deserve any mercy,” he said in a statement. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and the injured were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
