Suvendu Adhikari alleges BJP wall writings erased in Behala, calls it ‘Trinamool’s cowardice’

Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Friday accused the Trinamool Congress of deliberately erasing Bharatiya Janata Party wall writings in Ward No. 122 of the Behala East Assembly constituency under South Kolkata district. In a post on social media platform X, he alleged that at least 10 BJP wall writings in Booth Nos. 156 and 157 were removed in a planned manner.

Calling the act an instance of “cowardice,” Adhikari said that in a democratic country, attempts to silence the voice of the opposition are “extremely condemnable and shameful.” Addressing the state leadership, he wrote, “Are you listening, Madam? The BJP can no longer be stopped in this manner on the soil of West Bengal.”

He further asserted that erasing wall writings would not diminish the party’s presence or ideology. “By erasing wall writings, you cannot erase the BJP from the minds of the people. You cannot remove the ideals of the BJP from the hearts of the public. The support and love of the people are our greatest strength,” he said.

Adhikari also warned that the people would respond to every injustice both on the streets and through the democratic exercise of voting. He added that what he termed “politics of terror” would not be allowed to continue much longer in West Bengal.
