BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari stated that they have always maintained that the Digha Jagannath Temple is a cultural center. This has now been confirmed after Govardhan Math and Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati declared Puri's Jagannath Dham to be the original and only one. He also emphasized that the Digha Jagannath Temple is located on HIDCO land and should not be viewed solely through the lens of culture.
