After the tragic hotel fire that claimed 15 lives, opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday levelled serious allegations against the state government and administration. He stated that had the rescue and relief operations begun on time, the death toll would have been significantly lower. Adhikari highlighted that the hotel is located close to the local Jorasanko police station, yet the fire department arrived late. He stressed that timely intervention could have saved many lives. He further alleged that as the entire state government was occupied in Digha, essential emergency services for those trapped inside the hotel, including guests from other states, were not arranged.
