Leader of Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, has issued a response to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's recent allegations surrounding Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigations. Adhikari vehemently denied any BJP interference in these ongoing legal proceedings, stressing that the party does not seek to manipulate or obstruct the investigative process.
His statement comes in the midst of escalating political tensions in the state, with the exchange of words between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP adding to the already charged atmosphere.
Mamata Banerjee had raised questions about the timing of the ED raids during the festive season, insinuating that the agency was acting at the BJP's behest. She cited the unfortunate demise of MP Sultan Ahmed, which she linked to previous investigations, and expressed concern for Jyotipriya Mallik, another TMC leader currently under scrutiny.
Adhikari's response indicates the intense political polarization in West Bengal, where both parties are engaged in a fierce political battle.
