Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Political tension gripped South 24 Parganas on Saturday after an alleged attack on Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari’s convoy. Adhikari was reportedly on his way to inaugurate a Kali Puja event when his vehicle was intercepted in the Mathurapur and Mandir Bazaar areas.
According to reports, the attack was allegedly carried out by Trinamool Congress workers, who used a group of women as a front to block the road. The situation quickly escalated, forcing Adhikari’s security team to intervene and restore order.
The incident has sparked outrage among BJP supporters, who accused the ruling party of deliberately targeting the opposition leader ahead of the festival. Local police have been deployed in large numbers to prevent any further unrest.
Authorities are investigating the incident to identify those involved and ensure peace in the politically sensitive region.
