Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, on Monday, alleged that Bengal’s Hindus had been “asleep” but would no longer remain so, stating that a response had already been given during Saraswati Puja and another would come on Ram Navami. Speaking at Kolkata airport before leaving for a BJP meeting in Delhi, he accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of appeasement politics, claiming that she visits Furfura Sharif only before elections. “She did the same before the 2016 elections. Where was she for the last five years?” he said.
