NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari has raised serious allegations regarding the entries made under the Special Summary Revision (SIR) on November 26, 27, and 28. Submitting a delegation of BJP MLAs at the CEO’s office, he claimed that all entries during these three days must be audited by an observer using a modern verification system.
Suvendu alleged that 12.5 million entries were made overnight, calling it a “scam”. He claimed that AEROs, EROs, and the poll agency IPAC were involved in the process. Questioning the appointment of officials, he argued that SDMs are made EROs across the country and asked why a land officer had been assigned as an ERO in Bengal. According to him, ERO posts should be restricted to SDO-rank officers, BCS officers, or IAS officers.
He also alleged that the SIR system was misused to include the names of Bangladeshi Muslims and deceased individuals. The BJP delegation demanded immediate intervention from the CEO and a transparent audit of all entries made during the three-day window.
Meanwhile, tensions escalated outside the CEO’s office as Trinamool-backed BLOs held a large protest. They demanded an extension of the SIR deadline and compensation for families of deceased BLOs. Protesters were also heard chanting “Suvendu Go Back,” intensifying the political friction around the ongoing revision process.
