Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, has written to the Home Ministry, requesting the deployment of paramilitary forces at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
This move comes in response to the recent vandalism at the hospital, where a mob of outsiders forcibly entered the premises, damaging property and clashing with police.
In his letter to Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Home Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Adhikari expressed his deep concern over the incident, stating that the barbarity witnessed at the hospital has shaken the conscience of the people and the nation.
He accused the West Bengal government and Kolkata Police of turning the hospital into a "stinky quagmire" by allowing culprits to establish control and enabling TMC goons to destroy evidence.
