The newly formed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state government, led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, has finalized the strategic blueprint for publishing comprehensive, department-specific white papers targeting the fifteen-year tenure of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) administration from 2011 to 2026. The state cabinet officially approved the formation of a five-member ministerial committee tasked with overseeing the extensive compilation and release of these transparency documents. State Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta, a journalist-turned-politician, has been appointed to chair this high-profile panel, which will probe systematic leaks across six critical administrative areas.

According to cabinet insiders, the core focus of the investigative initiative will examine deep-seated financial irregularities that occurred across various ministries, allegedly facilitated by direct authorization from the Chief Minister’s Office. The white papers will specifically highlight how a private vote-strategist agency managed confidential state government files to influence departmental policies. Furthermore, the committee will expose the underlying operational methods of multi-crore recruitment scams within statutory institutions, including the West Bengal Public Service Commission and the School Service Commission, explicitly identifying both the structural masterminds and the monetary beneficiaries.

The remaining sections of the audit will scrutinize the massive public expenditures incurred during the annual Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) relative to actual realized investments, alongside rampant medical corruption within state-run hospitals. The final segment will focus on historical political interference that disrupted state criminal investigations, particularly regarding severe offenses against women and children. Minister Swapan Dasgupta initially announced this administrative measure during the legislative budget session, confirming that the new government will also table all long-delayed Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports to restore fiscal transparency and fix accountability.
