Sweet shop Ganguram's staff found in bloody state at Burrabazar's Malapara

A prominent North Kolkata sweets shop - Ganguram- has become the center of a police investigation following the mysterious discovery of one of its employees found in a pool of blood with a severe throat injury. The incident, which unfolded at the staff quarters located above the shop in the bustling Jorabagan area, has sent shockwaves through the locality, casting a pall of suspicion over the circumstances. Police are currently facing a conundrum, investigating the case as either an attempted murder or a dire suicide attempt.

The victim has been identified as Gautam Pradhan, an employee of the renowned sweet-making establishment. The disturbing incident came to light late Sunday morning when Pradhan failed to report for duty or respond to repeated calls from his colleagues, raising immediate suspicion among the staff.

Alarmed by the unusual silence, other employees eventually forced open the door to Pradhan’s quarters, only to discover a horrific scene. Pradhan was found lying unconscious in a profusely bleeding condition, with blood covering the floor. The injured staffer was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by his coworkers in a critical state.

Jorabagan Police Station was swiftly notified and officers arrived at the scene to begin their preliminary investigation. A crucial piece of evidence—a sharp knife—was recovered lying next to Pradhan’s body, which police promptly seized for forensic analysis. Investigators confirmed that Pradhan had sustained fine, deep wounds to his throat, which resulted in extensive blood loss.
