In a significant development, four bidders, including major players like T-Series and companies backed by actor Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Boney Kapoor, have successfully qualified for the final round of financial evaluation as potential developers for the much-anticipated International Film City near the upcoming Noida Airport.
The presentations for the greenfield project were made on Saturday by Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (T-Series), Supersonic Technobuild Private Limited (backed by Akshay Kumar), Bayview Projects LLP (with support from Boney Kapoor), and 4 Lions Films Private Limited. The officials of the Uttar Pradesh government presided over the session, led by UP Industrial and Infrastructure Development Commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh.
Bhatia, who is also the Additional CEO of the local Yamuna Expressway Authority, said after the financial bid is opened, the proposal of the selected concessionaire would be sent to the state government for approval. "Once that approval is received, land would be allotted to the concessionaire after due formalities and work for the project's construction begin," he added.
