T20 World Cup: Aussies dominate with 182/6 and 67-run win over Ireland

Australia produced a commanding performance against Ireland to secure a 67-run victory in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group B match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 11. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, the Aussies posted a competitive total that Ireland struggled to chase under pressure.

Australia finished their 20 overs at 182 for 6, with several batters contributing useful innings. Marcus Stoinis top-scored with 45, while Matt Renshaw (37) and Josh Inglis (37) provided steady support to build a strong total. Although key players like captain Mitchell Marsh and other senior stars were absent due to injury, the side’s depth was evident in their batting performance. In response, Ireland’s chase never gained momentum as Australia’s bowling attack applied relentless pressure. Early wickets fell quickly, with the Irish side finishing at 115 all out in 15.4 overs, falling well short of the 183-run target. Adam Zampa was the standout bowler for Australia, claiming a four-wicket haul that decimated Ireland’s lineup and played a key role in restricting the chase.
