Trump asks Apple CEO not to manufacture in India, says 'they can take care of themselves'
Amid heightened war-like tensions between India and Pakistan, a special task force conducted a detailed inspection at Koley Market in Sealdah. The operation followed a central alert to border states regarding security and supply chain stability. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued direct instructions from Nabanna, urging officials to prevent hoarding and ensure fair pricing of essential food items such as vegetables, fish, and meat.
Officials from the task force moved through various stalls in the wholesale market to check compliance. They verified price tags, monitored sales activity, and instructed vendors to adhere strictly to government-approved rates. The task force warned that any form of black marketing or artificial price inflation would result in legal action. All vendors were informed of the state government's mandate under which food items must be sold at fixed, fair prices.
After an extended inspection, the task force officials confirmed that food items in the market were being sold at appropriate rates. “All food products are now being sold at fair prices,” an official said. They also stated that vendors had been made fully aware of the consequences of non-compliance. The state government has clarified that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in black marketing or violating price norms.
