The players of the Indian cricket team, which returned from Barbados earlier today after winning the T20I World Cup, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Delhi.
Team India was stuck for 3 days in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl after the final clash with South Africa. During the meet, an elated PM was seen having a warm discussion with the players and coach Rahul Dravid.
Following the meeting, the players will be seen celebrating the victory with fans in Mumbai where a parade is scheduled. An open bus is waiting for the world champions which will take them to the Wankhede stadium where there will be a grand celebration.
The team won the country its second T20I world title, ending an 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. India's previous ICC title was in 2013 when it won the Champions Trophy under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Its earlier World Cup titles came in 1983 (ODI), 2007 (T20I) and 2011 (ODI).
