Air India's special chartered flight has left Barbados Airport and finally, after a long wait, the World Champions are coming home. The flight is returning with the victorious team India home after their T20 World Cup 2024 triumph.
After the final match, the Men in Blue got stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl which has wreaked havoc in the Caribbean islands. Keeping the hurricane's destructive nature in mind, the team was advised to stay in their hotels and have been in the country since their victory on 29th June.
Hence, with the weather finally clearing in Barbados, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) arranged a special chartered flight for the team to return home.
Indian team began their journey earlier today and will touchdown in Delhi tomorrow, July 4 early morning. There, they will be meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi also congratulated the team earlier through a phone call on their historic win.
